We have always wanted to try 3D printing and this holiday season, we got a good deal on the QIDI X-MAX-3 to get into this fun adventure.
The filament we used to do our very first prints is the Metallic Blue PolyLite™ PLA PRO Filament by Polymaker. As it turns out, we LOVE the color and finish of this!
The very first print we did was a free STL file for a cap for the Gardyn Studio hydroponic system we recently purchased, also for a great holiday discounted price. (As of today, the 25% off discount code still works – LASTCHANCE25)
We also ordered the QIDI Printer Camera so we can monitor the printing process remotely and it has been working great and we love to be able to check in on the print whenever we want.
The next thing we printed is a beautiful remote holder from Printables. It has built in slots for commend strip for mounting and we used the Medium Black Velcro Picture Hanging Strips. It works perfectly for our night stand floating cubes from IKEA.
Finally, we learned about this super-useful counter bin for catching debris when you clean up work surface on Printables. We printed one for the kitchen and one for the workshop.
All in all, we are extremely happy with the performance of the QIDI X-MAX-3 3D Printer. It is a breeze to set up, and it can’t be easier for novices like us to get started. Of course, we watched many helpful YouTube videos to educate ourselves before getting started, but it is a good machine if you are not a fan of tinkering and fixing things all the time and just want to get the machine set up and start printing.
